Lately I'm loving large dreamy abstract art in the home. It's eye candy to drool over every day! Whether it's placed above a bed, chair, bench, couch, mantel, bar cart, or desk, I adore it! Here are some that I can't stop looking at:

Original art is often unaffordable, but
Etsy and
Society 6 are great places to look for prints. I found a few affordable artists that offer the abstract looks shown above:
What do you think of abstract art? What art do you have in your home? What art do you wish you had in your home? Please share :)
Thanks so much for your comment on my blog about the 'brass effect' with Montana Gold Gold Chrome! This stuff is like magic, I tell ya and I've tried quite a few of them! Go for it ;)
ReplyDeleteI hopped on over here from your comment and I can't tell you how well timed your post is! I'm going to be tackling some diy abstract art this weekend to fill that very space - the black/white abstract will go back to the living room to be replaced with something more colourful :) Thanks for the inspiration!
Oooh btw, the 9th photo down I recognised! It's Cozamia (amazing stuff):

Have a lovely weekend! xxx
Hey Kimberly! I'm definitely thinking about it, but the table was expensive and I'm freaked out about ruining it! Your paint job looked really good so maybe I need to be brave? Any tips on how to make sure the spray paint doesn't drip?
DeleteAlso, thank you for the Cozamia source, I just added it!
I'm so excited to see you tackle some DIY abstract art for your dining room. I have dabbled in some painting, but never abstract, and I'm very excited to try my hand at it as well! Best of luck, can't wait to see what you come up with :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Spray painting tips (my partner is a car sprayer so I've learned from an expert ;): When you first start, spray the can away from your object (I usually spray on the cardboard it's sat on) to start an even spray and clear the nozzle. Then spray in LIGHT LAYERS, about 8" away and constantly moving the can horizontally back and forth, never letting the spray constant in any one spot. You'll need to do two coats so don't panic if you don't get full coverage first go. Let it dry about 1/2 hour between coats. That's it really, it's dead easy. I would suggest if you are nervous, practice on another piece that's not as important you to first to get the hang of it ;) Good luck! xxx
DeleteOoh I could fall in love with every single one of those! Thanks for the inspiration!

Hey Laura, you are so welcome! I'm sure your art does just that in so many homes! I hope to sell some of my art one day as well! I'm looking into getting some prints made. Are you a full-time artist or do you do other work?
